Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Finding the perfect diamond engagement ring for the woman you love can be an anxious time. You want to ensure that she will love the ring so you want to make sure you do not make any mistakes when looking over all of the different kinds of diamond rings. When you start your shopping for the perfect ring, you should have the knowledge about what to look for to help you narrow your search. Below are a few tips to selecting the perfect diamond engagement ring:

1. The key to picking the best diamond for the ring is to understand the 4 C’s of diamond buying. The 4C’s stands for Color, Carat, Cut, and Clarity. Diamond carat is the measure of its weight. The carat weight is a determining factor in the price of the diamond which is helpful to know if you have to keep to a strict budget. The cut of a diamond means the angles and proportions that are created when the rough diamond is polished. Diamonds that have the following features: sparkling, have a quality reflection, do not contain any flaws, and are clear, will be assessed as a high quality diamond and will be quite expensive.

Educating Yourself About Engagement Rings And Wedding Rings

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Educating yourself about engagement rings and wedding rings can be an eye-opening and cash-saving experience. Engagement and wedding rings aren’t tied to any season, but they seem to roll out the doors a bit more around Christmas or Valentine’s Day. But a good tip for anyone who is planning on purchasing one, is to go to the jewelry armed with at least a basic amount of knowledge in this area.

Once you begin your education, you’ll begin to see that there is some new terminology to learn, and some old terminology that you just thought you understood. Some of the terms used, if not understood, can cause you to pass over them, while others may seem to be misleading. But once you have a working knowledge of these things, it’s a much easier experience all the way around.

One of the terms you hear often in regards to diamonds, is the ‘cut’. Another is ‘shape’. And many take for granted that these two mean the same thing, because you have to cut a diamond to get its shape. But in fact, while the shape is mainly the ‘contour’ line of the stone, the ‘cut’ is much more involved in the overall description. It takes is the depth and the width, and other facets that will affect the brilliance and durability of the stone.

Some Examples of Modern-day Wedding Ring Designs And How They Are Different From the Classic Wedding Band

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

As a long-established symbol of their unending love, couples trade wedding rings. But, various options exist, and as all couples are unique and differ from one another, this awareness has allowed more up-to-date designs of wedding rings to be placed on the fingers of married couples.

The modern thing to do for some brides is to have precious stones other than the traditional white diamond. Some women like coloured diamonds instead of the normal white. Since diamonds are naturally available in all colors it’s just traditional that calls for a white diamond.

Another step away from the traditional wedding ring is the experimental artwork performed with the metal. Modern wedding rings play with polished finishes, matte finishes, and frosted finishes. A fully frosted ring may have an edge of polished silver, or vice versa.

For those who desire to leave the external appearance of their wedding ring to tradition, a dull finish on the inside provides a canvas in which to carve names, dates, or scripture verses to strengthen the personal effect of the ring design. Other modern wedding rings incorporate the finish into the pattern of the ring. For example, a frosted or matte finish lays the groundwork for a nice design around inlayed diamonds of any colour.

Wedding Rings of Hollywood Celebrities Often Draw Much Publicity

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

It is the right of every girl to be a princess on the day of her wedding. The celebrities seem to get the royal treatment on daily basis hence their weddings call for an over the top event complete with dresses which are ridiculously priced, an A list guest list, and, of course, the wedding ring which generates gossip almost equal to that of wedding itself.

Celebrity gossip magazines love to create news about the incredibly expensive wedding rings that Hollywood celebrities buy. One star whose wedding rings always make it into the tabloids is Brad Pitt. When he proposed to Jennifer Aniston, he offered her an’ carat white gold ring. Gwyneth Paltrow was the recipient of another extravagant ring from Pitt, and this ring was also newsworthy because he gave it to her before he divorced Aniston. Brad Pitt is currently unwed, but its a good bet that he will make news again with another stunning ring.

Three tiny yet beautiful diamonds were set in a ring that Pitt designed. But unluckily in Pitts situation, the celebrity wedding rings were talked about more by the public than they lasted on the fortunate lady’s hand, but Paltrows ring was basically one of a number of 3-stone rings.
